Style at your fingertips!
I’ve never been a huge person for wearing coloured finger nail polish. Mostly because I’m shocking at painting my own nails and the fact that I’m a primary school teacher, so I don’t like to wear anything to ostentatious on my nails to school. Even when I was having my nails manicured with gel overlays each month, I’d only ever get something subtle with the polish or my standard French white tip look.
Then there was always the issue with maintaining the paint job in between visits. It would either smudge it 5 seconds after I left the salon or it would chip 1 day after it had been applied. I would look at my nails and think how horrible they looked with pieces missing. I thought it was not very classy and I would always feel not fully dressed when they weren’t at their best.
To avoid this, I fell into a habit of just leaving them plain with maybe a clear coat over the top (it also saved me money not going to the salon for a manicure each month). Then the nail itself would chip and break easily and I would get annoyed with having finger nails that were all different lengths. Does this sound like some of the problems you have with your nails?
Let me introduce you to Jamberry Nails. This wonderful company have developed a do-it-yourself nail wrap that solves all of the problems listed above and even helps your nails to grow without damaging them. The nail wraps are basically a heat activated sticker that is attached to the top of your finger or toe nails and gives the illusion of a flawless paint job. No smudges, no streaks. They come in many different colours and designs and are the latest craze in nails. The application is very quick and easy, very affordable and can be done from the comfort of your own home.
In addition to wraps, they also do a line of nail lacquers and gel enamels, which can be used as a fun way to create accents or paint those pesky little toes. I haven’t tried these products yet, so I will just concentrate on the wraps in this blog. They also sell everything you need to apply the wraps and to keep your nails looking beautiful.
The wraps last approximately 2 weeks on your fingernails and four weeks on your toe nails. They are resistant to chipping, peeling, water (so no excuses for getting out of the washing up – sorry!) and are perfect for mums of young children as you don’t have to wait around for your nails to dry when you have toddlers loose in the house!
They really have revolutionised the nail art industry.
Jamberry Nails is a direct selling company. They sell their products through consultants, just like Tupperware do. If you are curious about Jamberry Nails, please get in touch with my consultant Erin Hall. Her details are at the bottom of this blog. Erin can help you out, no matter where you are in Australia. She can even post you out a little sample to try at home.
Erin even runs Facebook parties. This is a great way to earn some free-bees and get some products at a discounted rate. The best thing about a Facebook party is that you don’t have to do any preparation. They are held over a few days in the Events section of your Facebook and people can opt in and out of them depending on their own personal schedule, so you don’t have to worry about getting people to your house at one specific time!
Erin and I had a play with the wraps today and she showed me how easy they are to apply. I have included some photos below of me applying the wraps to my little finger. You can also see how easy it is to apply from this YouTube Video. Although the special dryers are very inexpensive and much easier to use, you can do the same with a hair dryer. You can also use your own tools and alcohol wipes from the chemist if you don’t want to buy the application kit (which is also very reasonably priced).
To remove them, you just break the side seal with you thumbnail, soak them in remover for about 20-30 seconds and the peel side-to-side and they come off without damaging your nails. There’s even a YouTube video on this process for you.
So there you have it! What a great way to jazz up your nails and add a little something to your outfit without all of the problems associated with nail care. I recommend you give them a go. They are an excellent way to create a signature style on your fingertips!

Once you have washed your hands and removed any old polish, file your nail into the desired shape.
Push back your cuticles.
Wipe the nail with an alcohol wipe to prepare the nail.
Peel the wrap off the sheet with the orange stick and heat it in from of the heater or hair dryer for about 5 seconds or until it starts to curl.
Stick the wrap onto your finger and press down/smooth out.
