One of the hardest things to find when you are a plus size lady can be comfortable sleepwear that is stylish and doesn’t cost the Earth. Often, all you can find in the shops are old lady style nighties or pyjamas that are made out of synthetic fibres that make you sweat all night. They are also not very flattering in the presence of company, or whilst travelling, or…. let’s say….. should you get a knock on the door at 6:30am from the Chanel 7 Sunrise Cash Cow because you just won $50 000! (Ha ha). There are also those days (and we all have them) where you just don’t want to get out of your pyjamas ALL day!

Introducing Said She Loungewear. Said She is an exciting new plus size sleep/lounge wear brand based in Brisbane and is available in sizes 16 to 28.  It’s designed to be worn as loungewear or pyjamas, but is also stylish enough to wear out and about. The Said She range uses natural fibres and consists of shirts and pants in funky patterns, as well as singlets with under-bust support that are available in five different colours.

I recently got to try some of their range and I have to say that I am very impressed. I tried the ‘short length’ button through shirt and pants in the navy with white polka dots range. I found the pyjama set extremely well made and very good quality. Every detail was finished off well. The three-quarter length is just perfect for Autumn wear and the natural fibres makes it well suited to the hotter Australian climate (so you can still wear them in the warmer months as well). The collar was a little stiff and stood up quite high, but that should settle after a few washes.

The third picture of me is my impression of winning the $50 000 Cash Cow whilst in my ‘Said She’ pyjama set.

I also tried one of the singlets with the support shelf. Again, these singlets are very well made and of good quality. I found I had to go up a size in the singlet as I am quite a large cup size. The singlets could easily be worn as a camisole under a kaftan or another sheer top. I decided that these singlets were not the best fit for me personally as the cut under the arm came below my breast cancer scar. I would probably prefer a tank style top that covers my scar and has the wider strap (not that I’m self conscious about my scar, that’s just what I would prefer). However, this doesn’t mean to say that they aren’t right for someone else. You just have to find the right fit for you.

With permission from Said She, I’ve included a few photos below from the Said She website so that you can see some of their beautiful range. Remember, you can get all of the pants and button through shirt in the long or the short (three-quarter) lengths. I love how they have shown how you can wear the black version like a business suit. That’s versatile!

Jump online, check out their very reasonably prices and give this up and coming small Australian business a try. You won’t regret it. Every detail has been carefully considered from the personal experience of the designer, Sarah. She really has put her heart and soul into creating a range of loungewear that you’d love to live in.

My pleasure. They are great! I’m not going to say so if they weren’t. I will keep a keen eye out for the tank and shorts. 🙂
